The Vessel
The Round 2 is a well-equipped sportfishing vessel built for comfortable, productive fishing in the Bay, Delta, and Pacific Ocean. We target some of the most exciting fishing grounds in Northern California.
Our vessel features modern navigation and fish-finding electronics, spacious deck areas, and all the amenities needed for a great day on the water.

Meet Capt. Jay Lopes
Capt. John "Jay" Lopes has been a full-time professional fishing guide since 2005. What started as a part-time passion quickly grew into a successful full-time career on the water.
With more than 20 years of guiding experience, Jay has fished waters throughout Northern California—from the Sacramento River, targeting salmon and striped bass, to the California Delta, pursuing sturgeon and striped bass using a variety of techniques.
Jay specializes in San Francisco Bay halibut and striped bass fishing, as well as ocean salmon fishing. As Northern California's fisheries have changed over the years, Jay has continued to adapt and expand his operation, including popular Dungeness crab combination trips out of beautiful Bodega Bay.
Jay brings decades of experience, local knowledge, and a passion for putting his clients on fish every time he leaves the dock.

What We Target

Striped Bass
Pound for pound, stripers are one of the hardest-fighting fish around. Expect screaming runs and bent rods in the Bay and Delta.
Halibut
Flat, mean, and delicious. California halibut prowl the Bay and nearshore Pacific — the prized table fare of the SF Bay fishery.
Sturgeon
Prehistoric giants of the Bay and Delta. Sturgeon trips are a bucket-list NorCal experience — and yes, they really do leap.
Salmon
Ocean salmon in summer, river-run salmon in the fall. The Right Hook chases salmon wherever they're biting along the NorCal coast and inland.
Rockfish
Join us for a Rockfish trip and go home with some fish and chips!
Lingcod
We enjoy targeting Lincod. Not only do they put up a good fight but they are also delicious.
Dungeness Crab
Bodega Bay crab combos run from November through December — a cooler full of fresh Dungeness is as good as it gets on the water.
Leopard Shark
Hard-pulling SF Bay sharks — a fun light-tackle fight and a great trip for first-timers who want steady action.
